Hempu Time, a Chinese hemp company, will roll out two new products — hemp seed oil and hemp protein powder — in the Chinese market in October, according to its chief executive officer Ji Han.
The company is cooperating with Yunnan Baiyao, an established Chinese pharmaceutical company, relying on its scientific research and professional teams, to produce hemp-based food products in China. Based in southwestern China’s Yunnan province, Yunnan Baiyao is currently researching new recipes to improve the products’ effects.
Hemp oil contains large amounts of omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids, which are types of unsaturated fats, or “good fats,” according to a report on the website of Medical News Today. Hemp oil can be used in cooking, as well as in treating skin infections and disorders such as eczema and dermatitis, Ji said.
Hemp protein is a plant-based protein popular among fitness enthusiasts. It is also a complete protein, containing all nine essential amino acids, which humans must get from food, according to a report by health topic website Healthline.
“Our healthcare products are really well suited for people looking to keep healthy,” Ji added. Hempu Time aims to build a brand specializing in hemp food products in China.
Besides China, Hempu Time also sells a range of products overseas, including healthcare and skin care products. “Cannabidiol, or CBD, is highly recognized by people in North and South America,” Ji explained. “We add Chinese herbs to CBD products, which also promotes traditional Chinese medicine overseas.”
“In terms of CBD, there are very few mature companies yet worldwide,” Ji said. “As a Chinese company, we are developing cutting-edge CBD products overseas, as well as advancing hemp food products to benefit domestic consumers.”
