Innovation in the Food Industry During Pandemic

Data showed that from January to December 2021, enterprises above the scale of the food industry achieved a total profit of RMB 618.71 billion yuan (USD $92.22 billion), with an increase of 5.5%. At the press conference of “2021 Annual Report on China Food Industry Innovation and Development”, Yu Xuejun, Director of the Food Industry Department, elaborated on three aspects that the pandemic has caused changes in to adapt to the new supply patterns.”

1. Prepared meals and self-heating food have become a big hit.

2. Good momentum of development in nutritional functional foods.

3. Actively implement “Health China”, “Digitalization of the Consumer Goods Industry”, and other national strategies.
