The Review of the New Food Ingredient N-acetylneuraminic Acid has been Terminated

Recently, the National Health Commission terminated the review of the new food ingredient N-acetylneuraminic acid from CABIO Biotech (Wuhan) Co., Ltd. The review comments are as follows. The new food ingredient is based on Escherichia coli (strain number CASOV-09) as the fermentation strain, using food-grade glucose, corn pulp, and other nutrients as fermentation raw materials. It’s worth of notice that this product is substantially equivalent to the production process of N-acetylneuraminic acid, which has been approved for the former National Health Commission Announcement No. 7 of 2017.
