Quick Look: E-commerce Supplement Growth in China August 2022

Summary – Ending August 2022 Supplement Category

A) the overall category still growing strongly at well over 20%.  2 points here: 1) This category is heavily driven by online consumption, and thus not really effected by lockdowns (assumption is deliveries unaffected) and 2) With Covid and general health concerns at a high, people looking to consume health supplements is natural.

B) The top performing brands are mainly local: Tongren Tang, Renhe and Life Space, with Esmond Naturals the sole MNC performing well.  This was a similar trend which we saw in the Expo West presentation.
