On November 1, Meituan Health disclosed that since the start of the “Double 11” shopping festival, sales of chronic disease medications, nutritional supplements, wellness foods, and personal care products have grown by more than 100% year-on-year. According to data from Meituan’s pharmacy delivery service during “Double 11,” items such as chondroitin calcium tablets, Hayao calcium-iron-zinc supplements, and protein powder have seen sales double. Additionally, 52% of consumers purchasing traditional Chinese wellness products on the platform are aged between 18 to 30 years, with Gen Z and millennials (born in the 2000s and 1990s) making up the primary consumer base.
