Ten New Food Additives Open for Public Consultation

On May 14, the China National Center for Food Safety Risk Assessment (CFSA) launched a public consultation on new food additives, including a new enzyme “branching enzyme,” the new nutritional fortifier 3-fucosyllactose, and five additives with proposed expanded usage scopes such as Advantame. The consultation also includes revised quality specifications for three additives, including steviol glycosides (enzymatic conversion method). The consultation is open until June 13, 2025.
