Professor Rao Yi from Peking University published a post on his personal WeChat blog, claiming that ergothioneine is a “fake drug.” He appeared to implicitly criticize Liu Gexin, the chairman of Kelun Pharmaceutical, who recently gained attention for his muscular physique. In the article, Rao stated, “If a drug truly had life-extending effects on animals or humans, there would already be sufficient evidence to obtain regulatory approval.
