Rao Yi Claims Ergothioneine Is a “Fake Drug”

Professor Rao Yi from Peking University published a post on his personal WeChat blog, claiming that ergothioneine is a “fake drug.” He appeared to implicitly criticize Liu Gexin, the chairman of Kelun Pharmaceutical, who recently gained attention for his muscular physique. In the article, Rao stated, “If a drug truly had life-extending effects on animals or humans, there would already be sufficient evidence to obtain regulatory approval. Because such evidence is lacking and approval cannot be obtained, sellers instead take the route of marketing it as a health supplement.” (Source: Phoenix Finance)
