According to data from China Chamber of Commerce (CCCMHPIE), the import amount of nutritional health food is in a continuous growth trend. Since 2016, the import amount has grown rapidly, and the growth rate of import amount in 2021 is 237.0% compared with 2016 and nearly 12 times compared with 2008. This data demonstrates the continued strengthening concern for health among consumers, reflecting the demand for a better life. In comparison, the export value of nutritional health food in 2021 has increased nearly 8 times compared with 2008, with a compound growth rate of 16.5%. The total import and export amount in 2021 is RMB 52.2 billion yuan (USD $7.80 billion), with an increase of 11.6%. More specifically, the import amount is RMB 34.7 billion yuan (USD $5.18 billion), with an increase of 7.8%, and the export amount is RMB 17.5 billion yuan (USD $2.62 billion), with an increase of 19.9%.
