On July 28, the National Health Commission and State Administration for Market Regulation jointly issued “36 New National Food Safety Standards”, which also include “docosahexaenoic acid oil (tuna oil)” (GB 1903.26-2022), filling the gap of no national standard for tuna oil DHA.
As we all know, being included in the health food raw materials catalog is the key to quality standardization. And this time, “National Food Safety Standards Docosahexaenoic Acid Fats and Oils (Tuna Oil)” may become a stepping stone for DHA of tuna oil source to enter the health food ingredients catalog.
