At the 14th Asian Congress of Nutrition, the “Dietary Reference Intakes for China (2023 edition)” was officially released, referred to as the new DRIs. The new DRIs have been revised and confirmed for more than 70 nutrients and other dietary components across 20 age groups, including energy, nutrients, and other dietary components for pregnant and lactating women. Chapter 15, titled “Other Dietary Components”, includes ingredients commonly used in health supplements or those that are frequently used.
It’s worth noting that this revision specified “Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) for CoQ10 in reducing cardiovascular metabolic risk factors is set at 100mg/day”. The inclusion of an RDA for CoQ10 in the DRIs is a significant development and implies potential increases in the upper limits for CoQ10 addition in health supplement ingredients in the future.
