-DSM-Firmenich and NutriLeads have entered into a strategic collaboration agreement to evaluate the potential applications of NutriLeads’ precision prebiotic Benicaros for pet gut and immune health. Benicaros is a natural prebiotic fiber derived from carrot by-products, and human studies have shown that this ingredient can sustainably increase beneficial gut bacteria such as Bifidobacteria, primarily B. adolescentis and B. longum, commonly found in the gut microbiomes of dogs and cats. Additionally, Benicaros can significantly increase the production of short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs), which support gut barrier function, immune health, and energy metabolism, and enhance innate immune cell responses. Previously, the two parties established an exclusive global partnership to develop products containing the pet food version of Benicaros. Both parties believe that Benicaros has great potential to benefit pet health and vitality.
-UK kefir brand Biotiful Dairy is expanding its range of gut health products with the launch of two new kefir overnight oats flavors: Mixed Berries and Spiced Fruit. These products are made with billions of live cultures, as well as calcium and vitamins, to support gut health and immunity.
-On June 26, the Chinese Nutrition Society solicited public opinions on four group standards, including the “Technical Guidelines for Scientific Evidence Evaluation of Health Claims of Health Food Ingredients” and “Probiotic Terminology.”
-Meiji Dairy China’s official WeChat account announced the launch of a new Hokkaido-flavored yogurt. This product claims to use TM96 lactic acid bacteria extracted from Hokkaido Tokachi raw milk.
-Haihe Dairy announced a collaboration with De Yun She to launch several new products, including popsicles, fermented milk, and regular milk. The co-branded popsicles come in three varieties: Thick Milk Ice Cream, Thick Cocoa Ice Cream, and Thick Yogurt Strawberry Ice Cream, all free from synthetic colorants, vegetable fat powders, hydrogenated vegetable oils, and cocoa butter substitutes. The co-branded fermented milk flavor is Rose Wine Fermented Buttermilk, which is reportedly fermented with the “Tibetan Ganoderma” kefir strain, contains seven probiotics, and is enriched with double-petaled roses and crispy poppy pearls.
-On June 22, Professor Chen Tingtao’s research team, led by the chief clinical scientist of Shen’enkang, published a study titled “Effectiveness of Psychobiotic Bifidobacterium breve BB05 in Managing Psychosomatic Diarrhea in College Students by Regulating Gut Microbiota: A Randomized, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled Trial” in the international journal Nutrients (Q2 in CAS, IF2023=4.8). The study results indicate that diarrhea in college students leads to changes in the composition and a decrease in the diversity of the gut microbiome, while Shen’enkang’s Bifidobacterium breve BB05 effectively restores the balance of the gut microbiome, improves diarrhea symptoms, and alleviates associated anxiety and depression symptoms.
-TrueZero has launched the Little Blue Can Body Control Yogurt. Building on the foundation of zero-sugar, zero-fat yogurt, this new product also includes Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis B420 and 12 other strains. It contains no added sucrose, sweeteners, or lactose, and each 100g serving contains 5.0g of protein. The combination of multiple strains and high protein content supports weight management.
-According to Nestlé China, Nestlé N3 Low-Carb Skimmed Milk Powder has been newly launched at Sam’s Club. The new product uses imported New Zealand milk, offering a rich and creamy flavor. Each 100g of milk powder contains 960mg of calcium and 32.5g of protein. Additionally, each serving contains less than 0.4g of fat and 50% reduced carbohydrates. The product is also fortified with probiotic Bb-12 and 6.25g of native milk prebiotics per cup, providing light and wholesome care for the whole family.
-Meiridejun has collaborated with NOWWA Coffee to launch a combination of Melon Americano and Active Probiotic Chewable Tablets. This refreshing “gut power” combo product is now available in many NOWWA Coffee chain stores nationwide. The dual benefits of the crisp Melon Americano and the Vitamin C probiotic tablets help summer drowsy office workers stay alert and awaken their gut health.
-Yili has introduced a new product, Changyi 100% Milk Beer, a non-alcoholic beverage that serves as a healthy alternative to alcoholic drinks. It contains 0% fat, allowing for guilt-free consumption. Made with high-quality pasture milk, it has a rich milky aroma and is enhanced with Yili’s proprietary K56 strain.
-On June 20, Mengniu Suan Suan Ru announced the launch of a new Lemon Tea product. According to the brand, the new product contains dietary fiber and Swiss Lactobacillus, offering a refreshing taste with 0% fat and a light burden.

-Recently, the British national probiotic brand Bio-Kult® has entered the Chinese market. Bio-Kult®’s Everyday Gut Probiotic Supplement, a consumer favorite, had already garnered over 10,000 reviews on Amazon UK before the brand’s entry into China. The Everyday Gut Probiotic Supplement is used by the UK’s National Health Service (NHS) and features a multi-strain formula with 14 different probiotics, scientifically developed to support the human digestive system. It supplements and enriches the gut microbiota, promoting a healthy balance of gut microecology. Additionally, the product has clinical research evidence specifically targeting IBS-D patients, with the scientific validity and effectiveness of this research being rated as Level 3 evidence (providing higher quality evidence than individual studies) in the global guidelines on probiotics and prebiotics published by the World Gastroenterology Organisation (WGO) in 2023.
-Moon (Guangzhou) Biotechnology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Moon Bio”) recently announced the completion of a 300 million RMB Series C+ financing round, exclusively invested by SDIC Unity Capital. This round follows Moon Bio’s Series C funding from SDIC Venture Capital Fund, marking continued support from state-backed funds. The new funds will primarily be used to advance the large-scale production and commercialization of more of the company’s innovative biological products, expand its proprietary microbial strain library and component library, and further enhance its biomanufacturing technology platform.
