On July 29, the National Health Commission, along with several other departments, jointly formulated and officially released the “Implementation Plan for the Healthy China Initiative – Diabetes Prevention and Control Actions (2024-2030)” and the “Implementation Plan for the Healthy China Initiative–Chronic Respiratory Diseases Prevention and Control Actions (2024-2030).” The plans require local authorities and relevant departments to establish and improve leadership and coordination mechanisms for prevention and control work, enhance resource coordination, and ensure close cooperation. Chronic respiratory diseases prevention and control should be integrated into significant local livelihood projects, promoting the prevention and control actions in alignment with other related special actions under the Healthy China Initiative. The plans also emphasize strengthening public awareness and mobilizing social forces for widespread participation, creating a favorable environment for the prevention and control of chronic respiratory diseases. Additionally, dynamic evaluation of the prevention and control work should be strengthened, and the completion of various goals and tasks should be supervised. Source: Medical Emergency Division.
