On September 18, the Alzheimer’s Disease Branch of the China Elderly Health Association released the “2024 Dietary and Nutrition Report for Alzheimer’s Disease Patients.” The report reveals significant nutritional imbalances in the dietary structure of Alzheimer’s patients compared to the recommendations in the “Chinese Dietary Guidelines (2022).” Although the overall intake of grains, tubers, and livestock products among patients roughly meets the recommended levels, there are noticeable deviations in the specific types of foods chosen. Wang Gang, Vice Chairman of the Alzheimer’s Disease Branch of the China Elderly Health Association, suggests that patients with Alzheimer’s disease and related cognitive impairments should pay more attention to building a balanced dietary pattern.
