SAMR Seeks Public Feedback on the Proposed List of Health Functions Allowed for Health Food Claims

In accordance with the Food Safety Law of the People’s Republic of China and its implementation regulations, as well as the Administrative Measures for the Catalog of Health Food Ingredients and Health Functions, the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) conducted a public consultation from July 29 to December 31, 2024, on the Proposed List of Health Functions Allowed for Health Food Claims.

According to SAMR, a total of 33 suggestions were received from 12 enterprises, which fall into two main categories:

  1. Maintaining or Improving Bodily Health Status – 26 suggestions
  2. Health Functions Guided by Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Theories – 7 suggestions

The Special Food Department will collaborate with the Food Evaluation Center to thoroughly study and evaluate the feedback and advance the relevant work in accordance with established procedures.  (Source: SAMR)
