On February 17, the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) issued a notice inviting public comments on the Food Safety Law of the People’s Republic of China (Draft Amendment for Public Comment).
To strictly implement the “Four Strictest” requirements for food safety, regulate the bulk transportation of key liquid foods, and prevent food safety risks across the entire supply chain, SAMR intends to implement a licensing system for the bulk transportation of key liquid foods. As part of this effort, the administration has drafted the Food Safety Law of the People’s Republic of China (Draft Amendment for Public Comment) and is now soliciting public feedback.
All relevant organizations and individuals are welcome to submit their proposed revisions by March 18, 2025. The public may provide feedback through the following channels:
- Online Submission: Visit the SAMR official website (http://www.samr.gov.cn) and submit opinions under the “Public Consultation” section in the “Interactive” column on the homepage.
- Email Submission: Send comments via email to spxs@samr.gov.cn with the subject line marked as “Food Safety Law (Draft Amendment for Public Comment) Public Consultation.”
- Mail Submission: Send written feedback to the Food Production and Operation Department of SAMR at No. 9 Madiandong Road, Haidian District, Beijing (Postal Code: 100088). The envelope should be labeled with “Food Safety Law (Draft Amendment for Public Comment).”
