Draft of “Guidelines on Nutritional Interventions for Weight Management” Open for Public Comment

On March 5, the China Health Care Association issued a notice inviting public comments on the draft group standard Guidelines on Nutritional Interventions for Weight Management. The standard provides regulations in areas such as technical principles, individual nutritional assessment, intervention principles, intervention measures, lifestyle improvements, and intervention outcome evaluation.

In the intervention measures section, the guideline highlights the role of gut microbiota modulation, including increasing prebiotic intake to promote the growth of beneficial gut bacteria, supplementing with probiotics, and reducing the consumption of high-sugar and high-fat foods.

The public consultation period ends on April 7, 2025.
