The National Health Commission of China issued an announcement on the approval of 28 kinds of “Three New Foods”, including the Leuconostoc Pseudomesenteroides. It is worthy of notice that, after the review, it is necessary to wait for the release of the national food safety standards for food processing with this strain.
According to the information, Leuconostoc Pseudomesenteroides has been included in the QPS list and the Bulletin of the IDF, and has been approved for use in Denmark, Canada, Korea, and other countries. The scope of usage of this strain includes fermented milk, flavored fermented milk, cheese, fermented dairy beverage, and lactic acid bacteria beverage (non-solid beverages), excluding baby food.
