According to the recent “China’s Survey on a Better Life”, data reveals that in the realm of household consumer goods and services, expenditures on health products have consistently risen over the past decade. In 2023, the strong consumer demand for health and wellness has surpassed the previously popular category of tourism and claimed the top spot on the consumer willingness-to-purchase list. Furthermore, over the past three years, the consumer intention to spend on health and wellness has remained steadily above 30%.
The survey also noted that people’s purchasing behavior regarding fitness-related expenses has been growing consistently year after year. In 2022, the proportion of people engaging in fitness-related spending reached 10.94%, marking an increase of nearly 4 percentage points.
