On August 28th, the health food industry welcomed the introduction of new regulations as the State Administration for Market Regulation officially issued the “Implementation Rules for the Evaluation of New Functions and Product Technologies of Health Food (Trial)”. This document formally opened up the declaration management system of new functions for health food, while promoting innovation and research and development in the field of health food.
On August 29th, the day after the formal implementation of the “Implementation Rules”, leading company BY-HEALTH submitted the first declaration application for a health-food new function, stating “helps maintain normal platelet aggregation function, beneficial for blood circulation”. Industry experts believe that the technical barriers for new function declarations are relatively high, and companies with technological and product development advantages will be more competitive in the race for new functions.
