Heilongjiang Province: Testing Requirements for Domestic Health Food Registration

In accordance with the joint announcement titled “Catalog of Health Food Raw Materials for Ginseng and Other Ingredients” (2023 No. 57) issued by the State Administration for Market Regulation, the National Health Commission, and the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Heilongjiang Provincial Administration has decided, after thorough research, that health food products using ginseng, American ginseng, and Ganoderma as raw materials must submit test results that include, but are not limited to, the following items. In cases where national regulations specify other requirements, those regulations shall prevail.

  1. Testing Items for Ginseng and American Ginseng Raw Materials

The tests shall cover 33 types of prohibited pesticides according to the current Pharmacopoeia for medicinal materials and decoction pieces (plant category), including lead, arsenic, mercury, cadmium, copper, chlordane, pentachloronitrobenzene, hexachlorobenzene, heptachlor, dimethoate, azoxystrobin, dimethomorph, fluazinam, and sulfur dioxide.

  1. Testing Items for Ganoderma Raw Materials

The tests shall include lead, arsenic, mercury, cadmium, and sulfur dioxide.
