On February 28, the China Nutrition and Health Food Association officially released the industry’s first real-world research standard—the Guidelines on Real-World Research of Health Foods. This standard was primarily drafted over three years by the School of Public Health at Sun Yat-sen University, the China National Institute of Standardization, the Health Food R&D Committee of the China Nutrition and Health Food Association, and By-Health.
The Guidelines on Real-World Research of Health Foods references real-world research frameworks used in the pharmaceutical sector. It aims to provide scientific methodologies and technical guidance for evaluating the functionality and safety of health foods after they enter the market, filling a critical gap in the industry.
