On April 14, China’s National Health Commission announced that three new initiatives have been incorporated into the Healthy China Action framework. The new additions are: Healthy Weight Management Action, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Health Promotion Action, and Healthy Village Construction Action.
According to the official notice, all initiatives are aligned with the goal of achieving measurable health outcomes by 2030. With these additions, the Healthy China Action, originally launched in 2019, now includes 18 key initiatives.
Targets include: Establishing a supportive environment for nationwide weight management. Significantly improving public awareness and skills for weight control. Promoting healthier lifestyles and achieving widespread participation. Slowing the rise in obesity rates and improving abnormal weight conditions in certain population groups.
