Recently, Shuzheng Consulting Group released the first “2022 Bone and Joint Nutrition Health Report” in China. The Report points out that there is a close link between falls in the elder group and the frequent occurrence of osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, and muscle loss. Nutritional fortification, including glucosamine, chondroitin sulfate, creatine, and HMB, is one of the effective means to reduce the risk to skeletal and muscular health systems.
Glucosamine is widely used in the field of healthcare as a nutrient for animal joint cartilage, with global market demand of about 20,000 tons. China is the world’s largest supplier of glucosamine, accounting for about 80% of global ammonia production. HMB (β-hydroxy β-methylbutyric acid), which supports healthy muscle function and prevents muscle loss that occurs with age, has been widely used in various health product categories. In China, HMB has also been approved as a new food ingredient. (Source: shuzheng consulting group)
