On January 22, it was reported that the first filing certificates for protein powder as a health food and the first filing certificate for compound protein powder products have been recently issued, according to the Center for Food Evaluation, State Administration for Market Regulation. Since the release of the health food raw material catalog in June 2023, these are the first batch of domestic health food filing certificates obtained for products using soy protein isolate and whey protein as ingredients. These products are primarily aimed at individuals with protein deficiency and weakened immune systems, enhancing the targeted use of health food among specific populations. Officials from the Center for Food Evaluation stated that the next step will involve actively exploring the inclusion of more ingredients in the health food raw material catalog and assessing the feasibility of including compound products in the filing management system.
