6 Nutritional Fortification Substances are Soliciting Public Opinion

On December 8, the China National Center for Food Safety Risk Assessment released an announcement for soliciting public opinions on 6 nutritional fortification substances.

1. Magnesium lactate: as a compound source of magnesium, it applies for use and dosage consistent with the approved provisions of magnesium in GB14880.

2. Vitamin B1: applies for expanded use for special-purpose beverages (including sports drinks, nutrient drinks, etc.) (food category 14.04.02.01).

3. Vitamin B2: applies for expanded use for special-purpose beverages (including sports drinks, nutrient drinks, etc.) (food category 14.04.02.01).

4. Taurine: applies to increase the maximum use level from 0.5g/kg to 0.6g/kg in special purpose beverages (food category 914.04.02.01).

5. DPEase: applies for expanded use for instant rice and noodle products (food category 06.07), and use and dosage consistent with the approved provisions of vitamin C in GB14880.

6. Ascorbyl palmitate: as a new enzyme from Bacillussubtilis, it applies to be used in the food industry.
