Starting from October 1st, a batch of new ingredients can now initiate the filing process for health food. For import companies, the most noteworthy development is the inclusion of DHA algal oil in the nutrient supplements directory. Although it’s not entirely clear whether DHA algal oil can be combined with other ingredients, the previously released “Health Food Ingredient Directory Nutrient Supplements (2023 Edition)” states that if combined with other nutrients listed in the ingredient directory, toxicological evaluation test data and research and development information should be provided.
