As of December 14, 2023, according to the information displayed on the website of the State Administration for Market Regulation, the total number of domestically registered health foods with new batch numbers in 2023 is 766, and there are still no newly approved imported registered products.
In terms of approved functions, the 766 products in 2023 have a total of 19 approved health functions (in addition to 3 nutrient supplementation functions). Among them, 48 products have been approved for dual functions, and 7 products are nutrient supplements. In terms of overall numbers, the most approved functions are for enhancing immunity, improving bone density, and relieving physical fatigue. Especially notable is the significant increase in products with the function of improving bone density, which now ranks second after the publication of the catalog.
In addition, the 2023 domestically registered health foods with new batch numbers belong to a total of 472 entities, including 21 cases of joint applications by two entities and 1 case of joint application by three entities.
