In 2023, the National Health Commission issued an announcement on the “Three new foods” catalogue and applicable food safety standards (No. 4 of 2023), summarizing the catalogue of new food raw materials and applicable food safety standards from 2009 to 2021 and setting an 18-month transition period. According to the five “three new food” announcements issued by the National Health Commission, a total of 12 new food raw materials were added. The details are as follows:
(1) On March 2, 2023, the National Health Commission issued an announcement (No. 1, 2023) on 28 kinds of “three new foods” including Leuconostoc mesenteroides, adding the new food raw material Leuconostoc mesenteroides bacteria.
(2) On May 6, 2023, the National Health Commission issued an announcement (No. 3, 2023) on 14 “three new foods” including blueberry anthocyanins, adding new food raw materials blueberry anthocyanins and rye pollen.
(3) On August 1, 2023, the National Health Commission issued an announcement (No. 5, 2023) on 8 types of “three new foods” including lettuce seeds and kernels. Bacteria leaves.

In 2023, the State Administration for Market Regulation, in conjunction with the National Health Commission and the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, issued a total of two announcements related to the catalog of health food raw materials. The specific contents are as follows:
(1) On June 14, 2023, Announcement No. 22 of 2023 was released, announcing the “Health Food Raw Materials Catalog Nutrient Supplements (2023 Edition)”, adding soy protein isolate and whey protein as health food raw materials.
