With the strengthening of consumer health awareness, the demand for health products is becoming stronger and stronger. But many unscrupulous merchants, in order to gain more profits and sell products quickly, claim that health food, ordinary products etc., have therapeutic effects when promoting and propagating, which occasionally happens and poses a potential risk to public health safety.
On April 9, the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) announced that it will organize special advertising supervision actions in the field of people’s livelihood from April to November 2024 nationwide, including strict prevention of the therapeutic effectiveness of health food and the functional promotion of ordinary food, and to legally investigate food advertisements that claim matters that do not match facts or violate relevant standard requirements.
