On February 5th, according to data released in the “Blue Book of China’s Nutritional and Health Food Industry” by China Insights Consultancy, as of 2022, the scale of China’s nutritional and health food industry has reached RMB 588.5 billion yuan (USD $81.78 billion), and it is expected to exceed RMB 800 billion yuan (USD $111.17 billion) by 2027. From November 2022 to October 2023, four out of the top five best-selling nutritional and health foods on Tmall were functional foods, prominently featuring the presence of emerging brands. Over the past two years, there has been a significant increase in investment and financing in the health and nutrition food industry, primarily in the early stages, with many emerging brands showing substantial development potential. The upstream industry chains, probiotics, and functional health foods have gained more attention from the capital, with some niche segments already having enterprises of considerable scale.
