The Hainan Provincial Administration for Market Regulation has Formulated the “Guidelines for the Registration and Filing of Special Foods and the Processing of Production Licenses”

On March 11, 2024, the Hainan Provincial Administration for Market Regulation (HPAMR) issued the “Guidelines for Special Food Registration and Filing, and Production License Processing.” The applicable scope of health food registration is that nutrient supplements imported for the first time need nutrient to be registered with the State Administration for Market Regulation. Domestic supplements and products containing coenzyme Q10, fish oil, melatonin, broken Ganoderma spore powder, spirulina, soy protein isolate, Domestic health foods using whey protein, ginseng, American ginseng, and Ganoderma lucidum as raw materials need to apply for registration with the HPAMR . The agency responsible for the application, acceptance, review, making and delivery of licensing decisions for production licenses for special foods (including health foods, formula foods for special medical purposes, and infant formula foods) in Hainan Province is the HPAMR .
